Project Yellow

The goal was to convert an original 964 Carrera 2 into an extreme light weight, road-ready clubsport racer, whilst incorporating the popular turbo-width. Being built-up from a bare shell with just the mandatory components reinstalled – the top priorities were not only the visual appearance but the professional, precise processing of such.

The body was completely modified to the WTL-look using light-weight carbon fibre bodywork; the dp RS front spoiler, the front hood with aluminum hood-support and the trunk lid SC RS are more than worthy of a mention as is the light-weight glazing made of both thin glass and plexiglass.

The entire project was perfected in Porsche colour 114 ‘Signal Yellow’ with a KW clubsport coilover suspension, chassis bushes by SuperPro on the front axle along with a complete Uniball bearing at the rear axle were indispensable. To complement the body and chassis mods the 3,800cm3 (231,8902 cubic inch) engine was completely revised, with such items as a Schrick 3,0mm camshafts as well as large 71mm throttle valves and an M&M sport exhaust system including two metal catalysts resulting in 329 hp (242kW) output. All this is put through the 5 speed G50 transmission installed with differential lock and 964 RS gear set and to cope with the extra power and lightweight 18-inch Oz Ultraleggera III rims with Michelin Cup II tyres (in 225/40-18(f) & 295/30-18(r)) guaranteeing a perfect link between vehicle and road. In addition to the above, VGS Motorsport in Cologne has implemented a complete dynamometer alignment.

With regard to the interior, the following highlights were opted: Recaro Pole-Position-seats in carbon, an OMP 4-point-harness-belt, a bolted version of a dp roll bar and a 350 mm sport type steering wheel by Momo. The light-weight dashboard and the knee rails are custom made in carbon fiber. A harmonious blend of leather, Alcantara and carbon adds to the ambiance. Other extras include a light-weight fresh air fan, an electrically heated windscreen, a motorsport battery in an aluminum housing as well as light-weight carpet made of velour.

All this is in accordance with the “formula” – 25 % weight + 30 % power = 100 % more driving pleasure, a vehicle with an unladen weight of 1.035 kg (2281 lb) (without fuel) has been created.
As you would expect, all of the aforementioned components are available individually.
